Strategic Planning

Since 1971, the Rothko Chapel has stood as an artistic and architectural marvel in Houston, Texas. The Rothko Chapel, celebrating its 50th anniversary, embarked on a journey to refine its mission, drive the restoration and expansion of its campus, and delineate its focal areas for impactful engagement. Beyond its architectural significance, the Chapel is celebrated for programs delving into the nexus of art, spirituality, and social justice. Choosing Chora as its strategic planning partner, the Chapel tasked us with facilitating discussions and achieving consensus on the Chapel’s profound potential and impact. Leveraging expert facilitation, structured dialogues, and scenario analysis, Chora facilitated strategic thinking and unity, identifying the Chapel's "sweet spot" – the key issue and program domains where it could drive significant social change. The culmination of this collaboration was a clear, cohesive strategic plan that serves as the Chapel's north star, charting a course for growth and evolution in its next chapter.
