Strategic Planning

For over a century, the Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) has embodied bold and visionary leadership, embracing new, provocative, modern, and contemporary art as part of its cultural legacy. Yet, transforming this ambition into a sustainable reality required strategic guidance.

In response, BMA sought Chora’s expertise to channel its visionary leadership into an actionable strategic plan. Collaborating closely with the Board and staff, Chora facilitated the translation of a bold vision into practical steps. The resulting strategic plan underlines a commitment to excellence, equity, and social justice, ensuring that every aspect of the museum’s operations, -- from exhibitions, and acquisitions to public programs and team composition ⎯is guided by these principles.

The Chora-designed strategic planning process and partnership set BMA on a trajectory to realize its vision and empowered BMA to align its actions with its values.
